What is the color code for 30-06 ammo?

Ok, who has the correct coding for the colors on the tips of 30-06 ammo that was made for the M1-Garand?

Thanks, GRP:36_1_63:

The black AP rounds used to be commonly available.

My dad & his brother used to shoot the surplus .30-06 near their home. They'd use a railroad embankment as a backstop, but every once in a while, they'd hear a strange "WHANG" noise after firing a shot. After their shooting session ended, they happened to notice some holes punched into/through the rails. Oops!

Years ago, you could still get the black tip projectiles from Jeff Bartlett (GIBrass.com).

They would go through a 24" diameter pine tree. We shot them by the hundreds, just for target practice, they were military surplus and cheap.
